Title: Here we go again??
Post by: Lizzie_Zoom on 27 May 2009, 18:36:30
Whilst we have been debating domestic politics, something possibly quite disturbing has developed with North Korea.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8069457.stm

After flexing their muscles with nuclear weapon and rocket testing it seems they want to challenge someone to a fight! ::) ::) ::)

I hear what you are saying Cem, but the big boys club have ruled them as being unstable! ::) ::) ::)
Therefore they cannot be allowed the big toys to play with. ;)

Yup, the 1950's tests by the USA. British tests in Australia & the land is still contaminated with fallout & will be for thousands of years. The French not so long back turning the sea white with tests near some small island that they happen to govern. One rule for one, but not all. When we have a barren wasteland where nothing lives, we WILL BE HAPPY.

This is of note Ms Zoom and should be watched very closely.  N. Korea should also be aware that when playing in such a lofty league, big boys rules apply - and sometimes those very rules make for a difficult game :-X :y :y

Big boy rules may apply, but just remember who supports N Korea in quite a substantial way !!! and they are no small fry.

I really hope you are right cem. But I also worry that the US and Europe are secretly looking for a more popular war to pull us out of recession.

I really really hope I way off the mark with this.

Quite right manta but that very same benefactor might well apply some rules of their own construction.  Rules which N K might well disagree with and find difficult to follow :y  Now that would lead to an interesting game :y :y

From a practical military perspective manta, I don't think that would on the horizon :y :y

Hope you are right. But our governments are desperatly seeking to restart the economy, much like after previous wars, Middle East wars are proving unpopular with the public, politicians are devoid of answers and looking for a quick fix. ???

Yep, and the USA know only too well how a war can boost industrial production, lower unemployment, and extend their interests! ::) ::) ::)

We might have stood a chance had there been a sound manufacturing base to fall back on manta, there's plenty of new technology which needs to be developed - unfortunately we're reduced to depending on the service sector and the now descredited financial sector :y :y and these provide little scope for real, and sound, future stability :y
