My broadband went down Thursday evening (currently at work) I have contacted my ISP and done everything they suggested, new filter changed modem plugged into master socket with no other device attached. My modem is less than 2 metres from the main socket.
Basically the ADSL light will not come on, it does light when powering on so I no that it works but it will not connect to the internet in any way.
I have asked them to look into but they seem to be convinced it is my end as the telephone still works.
Please has anyone got any ideas, I am less then 1.5k from the exchange. and we have overhead phone lines on poles.
Thanks
Mike

Only your ISP can resolve this. Unfortunately, you have to jump through their hoops.
One of the reasons I stick with (pretty expensive) Zen Internet - I want one phone call with them, and quick resolution, which they have always provided.

Try plugging in a different modem, I've had this problem and the connection seems to get "stuck" but resets itself when you plug in a different device.
Worth a try if you can borrow a modem from a mate.

I have seen this too. Something seems to get reset at the remote end when it sees some different hardware. I hand now rescued a couple of SpeedTouches from a skip for that very purpose.

Try turning off your ADSL for 20 mins then try again.
