You'll have to let us know the GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) before your question can be answered.

You & I are the lucky ones, because we don't have any of this namby pamby, politically correct, overseen by health & safety crap to put up with.

Miggy as you are 24, over 21,  you are ok according to this uk government produced information:

That's correct - the gross vehicle weight must not exceed 3.5 tonnes.

Sorry to disagree here . but a VERY IMPORTANT distinction ..... it is NOT the GVW that matters .. there is no longer any such animal in the legislation....

The only weight that applies is the vehicles MAM .. Maximum Authorised Mass ... this is the maximum weight of the vehicle plus load. If the MAM is above 3500 Kgs then you cannot drive it on a B licence.. even when empty.

IMHO a breakdown truck will probably have a MAM of greater than 3500kgs as it can carry heavy loads .... please ensure you check... :(

If you have a C1 then you are probably OK as C1 is a vehicle with a MAM of 3500kgs to 7500Kgs

With a Mig on the back of a transit would it not be overweight anyway, ie over 3.5 gross :-/ :-/

Yep... You're right! I just can't get used to MAM instead of GVW... At the end of the day they were the same thing ::) ::) ::)

Most Transit's are 3500Kgs MAM, and most Transit based Recovery Trucks are conversions and will be 3500Kgs MAM but... Be careful what cars you recover on it as anything bigger than an Escort/Astra sized car may well put you overweight :o :o :o
