I think we should all spare a minute today to think of all the brave men and woman who lost there lives 65 years ago today during the Normandy landings .

we owe them a debt we can never repay - or forget

Indeed Tonka, we should remember those who paid the ultimate price, those who remain and still suffer and all the families who were, and still are, touched as a result of the action seen on this day in 1944.
We should also remember all those who still serve and are presently representing our country in many dangerous parts of the world.
Our debt of gratitude should be beyond measure

They fought to free Europe of fascism, racism, and give back to the people western liberal democractic freedoms that were so nearly lost to a thousand year Reich.
Thank God for those heroes, and those that gave their lives for our today. May we not waste that sacrifice.
Please remember them.

i agree!! Its a bloody disgrace the way our government has treated our heroes. At the very least they should all be getting free heating and electric. Not to mention a decent pension instead of the pittance some have to survive on. By the way,did anyone see the last survivor from the 1st world war on the news this morning? 113 years old. Good on ya fella!!! :y :y
