Title: Jaime and Tunnie and Martin Imber...

James, you coming to brackley on Sunday?  I feel a Rover cambelt party coming on ;)

Not sure when he is collecting, I phrased that other post a bit wrong. "If you drop the seats on sunday"

I think he might be working, not sure  :-/

If he can't collect on the Sunday then the seats might have to be put in somone's garage who will be here during the week  ::)

But i will leave the grovelling to James  ;D

I've just seen this thread...

As far as this weekend now goes, I'm not working, and on Saturday afternoon onwards, I'm allowed to come out to play ;D

Sat PM I'm going to be changing the inlet manifold on my 2.0 for the LPG one, but Sunday all day is free.

Martin is seeing me for a couple of hours on Sunday, I will obviously have to fit in with him, but I will be free otherwise.

I did ask Martin if he could do afternoon, but thinking about it I'll ask if he's free in the morning.

That way in the afternoon, I could come over to Brackley, and have a mini rover Cambelt party and pick up the seats! If there is loads of time left, maybe some nice people may even help me fit them ;D

Would be well worth trying to get that timing cover before doing that belt. I'll ask around here too, not had much luck yet.

Hopefully, if Martin can do the morning, then I can come over to you guys in the afternoon to play  :y

If not, we'll sort something else...

Does that mean that Tunnie will require a spring replacement session on Saturday morning on the 'rust bucket' ;)

James, do you think you will be able to get a cover? No unbroken covers in our local scrappy, coz I broke the last one  >:(

I suspect so ;)

I wouldn't mind 'having a go' at this myself, under your supervision.

Do you know if Matchless had a suitable spring to flog to Tunnie?

Joking aside, mine is much more stable at the back in fast sweeping bends - before, it was also as if tyre pressure was a little low nsr, but now much better.  Once again, I am in your debt...  :y

I suppose you could visit me then go across country from Worcester, either A44 via Evesham or M42/M40.

Where I live gets clogged up with cars and getting a few decent ones appeals to me.

Anyway I'll PM instructions later

morning chaps, just got up  ::)

MarksDTM - Yes please on the springs for Saturday morning  :y I would really like to get stuck in to replacing them as well, like TB its guidance I need, also some more confidence!

Really appreciate the pair of springs, and the time you & Matchless are giving up to help me  :y

James - We will find out on the way back how easy the seats go in 2 cars, we may find that one car is impossible. So we may have to fit your seats here in Brackley, what a shame for you!  ;) ;D

This weekend is going to be busy for me!

Friday night pick dad up from Birmingham, Saturday morning (8AM!!! :o) leave for Nottingham, fit springs, collect seats & come back Saturday evening, fit cruise stalk & new brake discs on my dads 2.2, drink plenty of beer.

Sunday mini cam belt party at Jaime's and fit some seats!

What's happening then Jaime/Tunnie - Are you both going up to Nots on Saturday?
Title: Re: Jaime and Tunnie and Martin Imber...

Also, will you really help me fit the seats in?

I'd find that so much easier, with three of us, I've never done them before, and I'm hazy about the electrics/memory etc...

Yep no problem, i'll lend a hand. It makes sense fitting it there and then with 3 of us. Should be done in no time  :y

Besides i doubt it will all fit in 1 car, hence Jamie coming too. Really appreciate Jaime coming up too, I doubt it will all fit in the Senny.

I am considering buying cambelt kit, and waterpump and maybe fitting that Sunday too  :-/

1 hour 20 minutes.....just mark the old water pump position before you remove it as it seems to be hit and miss if the blocks have the locators on them....

Where's all this happening, tunnies or TheBoys, might have some spare time on Sunday if you want an extra pair of hands.

If not, tell me to sod off. :(

Have you got pieces of loom with connetors coming with the seats if not you'll need some extra wiring and some flat connectors to connect onto the memory box and also a nylon block.

Have you found the wiring diagram for wiring it up yet, I used 1 I think was created by a member on here cant remeber but shall try find it for you.

Somewhere in the thread below it shows the wire connections to the box, the rear seats and passenger should connect using the original connectors like mine did if your lucky.

Good Luck with the install.

I am just down the road from Jaime, about 1/2 mile. As long as this stupid seller has the seats, and James can come up on Sunday can't see why not.

I better give the 2.2 a clean, its a bit mucky atm!  :-[

Ok, guys, please don't take 2 cars all the way to Nottingham just on My account. that would really not be a good use of your fuel and time....

Tunnie, if all goes well then 1.5 hours should be about right for your belt kit, BUT....

We need longer than that. Why? To remove the rear cover, and have a stab at that sheared bolt....

So probably a job for a longer day...

Last time I took a full seat set in a saloon it was like this.

Rear bench pieces in boot, at an angle...

Front seats moved all the way forwards, and sat up,  and the "new" front seats put in behind them facing down and backwards , with cardboard protecting the rear of the existing front seats , and the headrests over the rear parcel shelf...

this was in a senator though.,

then a VERY uncomfortable drive for 65 miles to get them home....

A full Carlton/Senator interior easily fits into  a Carlton - still leaving room for a 6' 3" driver.
