I would never have guessed Lizzie  ;D :-*

I stopped up and watched a tribute to Lennon on the Anniversary of his death a couple of years ago. Some travellers turned up at his door he took them in and fed them, i thought that was brilliant. Anyway this tune "How?" was one he sang on the programme, don't know what it is about it maybe the words I reckon. Anyway I think it is class :y
Hope you like it :)

Thanks Lizzie Zoom and Ron, its good to see some beatles fans on here! I love this album, in fact i just love the beatles. I just love how their music is never predictable, you just don't know which direction the songs suddenly going to turn. One minute it'll be going on like a normal song and then suddenly it shifts into a classical song i.e Places I Remember. I really like that.

You are so lucky Liz, i wish I'd been around at such an exciting time in music and so many other things!

That is the downside of becoming older Zulu, but to have either eyewitness or contemporary knowledge and mental pictures of something that transpired in your life is a wonderful special thing. 8-) 8-)

There are a number of historic moments I just wish I had seen at close quarters, but I am thankful I witnessed such things in my life as The Beatles 8-) 8-) 8-)

Some great music getting mentioned in this thread! Am listening to Planet Rock at the moment (Neil Young Rockin' in the Free World) -- I like having someone else choose the music.

I've nearly finished reading a book about music -- Bringing it All Home by Ian Clayton. He sure has eclectic tastes, from music hall through George Formby, folk, blues, rock to modern electronica.

My own tastes are much narrower -- can't do music hall and 50's stuff is too "thin" for me. Not much into "head music" apart from Steely Dan. Old school blues rock works for me (mostly).

Here's a selection:

-- George Thorogood; Move it On Over, Who Do You Love, Cocaine Blues.....
-- The Who; Won't get Fooled Again, Squeeze Box.....
-- Dr Feelgood; She Does it Right, Down to the Doctors, Milk and Alcohol.....
-- Little Feat; Old Folks Boogie, Willin'....
-- Queen; Headlong.......
-- Ian Dury; Sweet Gene Vincent, There Ain't Half been some Clever Bastards...
-- Stiff Little Fingers; Suspect Device, Alternative Ulster.......
-- ZZ Top; La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man.........
-- Hendrix, Voodoo Chile, All Along the Watchtower...
-- Wildchild; Renegade Master....
-- Shampoo; Trouble...
-- Prodigy; Breath, Firestarter....
-- Underworld; Born Slippy, Dark and Long.....
-- Leftfield; Open Up
-- The Ting Tings; That's Not My Name.........
-- Laurent Garnier; The Man With the Red Face......
-- Nightmares on Wax; Keep On.....
-- and on and on and on................................

You can't beat a good pub band -- good covers, intimacy, dancing, real ale.

Cheers
