......savour that sound Martin, nothing produced now by our depleted industry is ever likely to match it :( :(

British engineering at its best and used to the fullest extent of its design brief by the RAF :y :y

great sight Zulu, and I am so pleased to have lived when I could see such magnificent things as an everyday occurence :-* :-* :-* :-*.  Yes we had to live through the fear of the cold war, but now looking back it is just very pleasurable memories! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

With the video, shame about the pop music; you only need the roar of Olympus engines to fill your mind! :-* :-* ;)

Can't remember where I read or heard it, but a T.V celeb took his son to an air show and were running late. They ended up watching the Red Arrows display from a lay-by not far from the airfield.
He said that watching from where the display is supposed to be seen is amazing, but to see it from a different angle was like "Aaagh...they're gonna crash !!   Talk about precision timing !

I didn't think about it TBH, on both counts :-[. The whole occasion kind of crept up on us. Will give you a shout next time I'm in the area though.

Mr Clarkson I believe.

The Vulcan was supposed to be at Southport last year but pulled out for some reason, I was genuinely gutted :(
