Title: Carb cleaner
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 16 February 2007, 09:38:44
What's the best to use, and where's best to get it?

Need to clean breathers and TB on my 2.0 this weekend, I bet it's going to be manky as ever.  ::)

I use whatever the factors have at the time. Halfords quite dear.

I use Wynns, it is OK and does the job, but I have no special preference it is just what seem to be available locally. I don't think it is a higly sophisticated product, and as TB said probably any type/brand will do...

Not if you've got a trade card ;)

I got mine from e-bay in bulk.

clicky (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12-X-500ML-CANS-OF-CARB-CHOKE-CLEANER_W0QQitemZ320045479309QQihZ011QQcategoryZ9895QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

I don't think it was that seller though and it was a bit cheaper.  If you search and wait, no doubt similar will surface.

Wynns with a Halfords Trade Card, works out to about the same price per can.

No probs with that, I just chased a quick search on e-bay and this is just one of the results.  As stated, I got mine cheaper than that and that was also cheaper than trade at Halfords.    :y

I used the Wynn's stuff from Halfords too. I had the plenum off my engine cleaning my breathers and I ran out, so nipped out in my girlfriends car and forgot my Halfords trade card, ended up paying £5 for it.
