Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's :y
Hope your having your Sunday Dinner made for you whilst your on here ;D ;)
Can any off you remember not having a Fathers Day? because I remember obviously celebrating Mothers Day but I get the feeling Fathers Day is a bit of an after thought.
I am pretty certain that it started or around here at least, in the early 1980's.....
Any one else?

It was the early 80's wern't it?

I seem to recall it being a new fangled invention of Hallmark cards!!!!!
Anyway -- as far as having sunday lunch cooked --- SWMBO did lunch ( very nice mushrooom stroganoff :) ) . But before she entered the kitchen I cleaned it all and while she was cooking I was hoovering :(
Now .. you'd never know I'd cleaned the kitchen and I am going to retreat to the garage for some stripping (of paint!).

Well I am 44 and did nothing for my father, and my children 13 and 15 did nothing for me.
And that is just how I like it. I will not have my kids ripped off by big business.

In the past I've never really taken much notice of Fathers day and my two son's aged 21 and 24 have trouble remembering my and their mother's birthday let alone Fathers Day!! ::) Anyway, what a nice surprise it was to find they had got me tickets to the Football Masters championship at Wembley Arena on Saturday evening (I suspect a little promting from my mate who also went might have had something to do with it). Then an even bigger surprise when they phoned me on Sunday and told me they were taking me out for dinner, and they even remembered to get a card.
Top lads. :y :y
