Our trusty 3 yr old Bosch Logixx Dishwasher is acting up it keeps not working we have managed to reset the (brain/computer) a cple of times but it seems to be now deciding to call it a day..
Basically it just gurgles no water enters the system when the wash settings are pressed !
As i have said it does a have a reset facility but alas thats not curing it I'm afraid , any clues you appliance experts out there before i ring for a repair man ???? :-[

I would guess you may have a duff inlet valve solenoid like this:

You will need to get the correct model number, though. A cheap pattern part fixed my Hotpoint D/W, but you may need to pay up for a proper Bosch inlet valve.
Not sure if this is the right one for you, but it costs £39.95.

sounds like its in flood mode. tip the machine on its side and see if any water comes out from the base- if water comes out sit it back up and start it on a wash. if it starts and filsl for the wash then you have a leak into the base which needs looking into.
secondly there is a clear water transfer tube that runs across the front of the base if this is blocked thats another fault that would cause your symptoms. tone :y

Seem to recall that (yet again) Hotpoint make the dishwashers for Bosch (may have changed a few years ago but that was certainly the case under GEC control)

sounds like its in flood mode. tip the machine on its side and see if any water comes out from the base- if water comes out sit it back up and start it on a wash. if it starts and fills for the wash then you have a leak into the base which needs looking into.

Hi Tony....Only just got back to looking at the dishwasher now it does as you suggest when we tip it water comes out not lots but some , it then works & will go into wash mode. Where as before tipping it its just sucking & no water entering the D/washer.
So I took off the bottom front plastic panel ,hoping to find a tube there but nothing! so i guess its in the washer base somewhere, can it be looked at from bottom then as I could lay it on its side probably as the back looks well sealed up, any tips or advice would be much appreciated regarding getting into it & fixing the leak or the blocked tubing :-/

Inlet solenoid valve!!
At the back where the inlet pipe joins the washer. No need to tip up.

Thanks for info Nick will have a look asap at the moment "wallpapering dining room" :-[ :-/ plus way it fitted in we have to empty everything from under units to get to taps/pipes etc, so a bit of a pain as pushed it back in coz its working at moment, but no doubt will fail sooooon :-[

The parentage have a dishwasher. Much as i love them they spend ages deciding what can & can't go in, then waiting, then getting it all out again. They have time to bumble about now so good on 'em. Myself, hot water, fairy liquid, 10 or 15mins..DONE.
Otherwise maybe a friendly admin could Tech 2 it for you?!!!! :D :y

so when you tipped it water came from the base and it then washed once or twice? that proves the water valve is ok, you next need to remove the left hand side panel- firstly slide back the top lid (raise clips at rear and slide backward) then unscrew 2 screws at the front with the door open. the panel should then lift and pulldown and away. at the bottom you will see a water unit with a red rod (part of the flood unit) if this is raised its a flooded base. to the front of the red rod is a clear tube this is the one that gets blocked with food, access is also gained by removing front lower kick panel and panel plate (akward to refit if not xperienced!) any more questions pm me tony :y

Hello! Newbie here! I really wish this guy came back to tell us what he found the problem was. Mine is doing this, but intermittently. Sometimes it fills, no worries. Sometimes it fills only for the first wash cycle. Sometimes it doesnt fill at all and the pump just sucks air. I am skilled at recognising the sound now, so I chuck a few litres of water in during the critical points of the cycle, and it works fine. Then it will work again for a few more days! So, what is it more likely to be - an intermittent valve, or an intermittent hose blockage? :D. Yeah, okay, I'm going to rip it open and mess with both (don't you just love the technical jargon?) but I am just trying to lay as much groundwork as possible before I do!

Was reading the thread thinking it was a new thread, then I saw the last post. Am sure Bill has bought a new hotpoint as he advised mr of the medel number when I enquired about buying one. (Still not baoght one as yet)
