just seen on the news they want every one to get fined for flicking cig butts on the floors, apple cores etc. I have no problem with that (A Fine)
But they want to take it one step further for motorists and get points on thier licences.
To add to that they want us to report litter bugs. So what happens when a motorist get's pee'd off with annother motorist, or a pedestrian get's pee'd of with a motorist, Ah they go on the keep brittain tidy web site and report them. (and before photographic evidence gets mentioned there are some good photoshop artists out there that can make the camera lie)

It will never work, another unpolicable law

A mates girlfriend got caught chucking a fag on the pavement a few week's ago in Doncaster, she was horrified when she got a tap on the shoulder and given an £80 fine.

looks to want 1 point per occasion

I remember a few years back my dad was fined 130 euro for chucking a butt out his window. While debating what to do, the next week he got the litter warden in his taxi that fined him, sorted ;D ;D
Getting points on a license is taking the p1ss >:( I'd say pedestrians dump more rubbish than drivers >:(

Of course there is, as always, as simple solution.....
If people didn't chuck stuff out of their windows there would be no discussion .... it matters not if it is a motoring offence or not .. littering in ANY way ...pedestrian, motoring, whatever .. is OFFENSIVE.
If you don't do it, you can't be punished. simple really ... :)

Must admit, I keep some carrier bags in the car for any rubbish.

One place they would earn a fortune in fimes is McDonald's car park, but would they be able to enforce a fine there.

Just follow the scrotes up the road. Guaranteed round here any nova/saxo that departs McD's drive through will deposit a shedload of junk out of the window about 1/2 a mile up the road. >:(

I was cycling home earlier this week when this red minibus infront of me chucked a chocolate wrapper out of window & i thought "you dirty b&^%$d >:( >:( >:( >:("
I walked up town to do some shopping & on the way back he was parked on the side of the road, because his bus wouldn't start, i smirked & thought "ha ha ha, that's justice" ;D ;D ;D

I am actually in favour of this, apart from the fact that this country is filthy these days,I have on more than one occasion been on my bike behind a car when the driver chucks a fag butt out the window which then hit my visor,if the visor was opened it could easily result in a serious accident.
Mrs Albs has also commented recently about the amount of drinks bottles chucked at the roadside which appear to be full of p1$$,rather disgusting. >:(
-
Totally agree with a fine, but points are only (or used to be) for something that is a danger to yourself and/or other road users.
I was behind a taxi as it pulled away from outside Swansea High St. rail station and saw the driver throw a K.F.C box and related wrapping out of the window into the road. I drew level at the next lights and was about to tell them that a taxi driver should regard their area as their office and was somewhat surprised to find the driver was female
