-
Horrid stuff. Even the smell makes me want to honk ;)
-
With reference to the post title - I certainly do.......but only after a nice meal and a pleasant evening :-* :-* :-* :-* :y
-
lovely stuff, ahve about 10 different open bottles on the go at the mo,
Prob average a glass every few nights :D
-
For me it is lovely, but only in single malt form and without any pollutant; i.e. water, lemonade, coke, ice, etc!! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :y :y
-
Prefer bourbon, in moderation :y

Ah, that'll be you that voted for option 1 then James. ::) :D
I do really like the stuff, particularly a good malt but don't mind a drop of blended now and then. However, can't drink it too often as it doesn't like me so much ::) and I'm kind of attached to my liver, so voted for option 3. :y

I'm more of a Rum man 8-).
Am partial to a selection of vodkas occasionally but mostly out of that phase - blame the caribbean! 8-) 8-)
-
Jameson is nice. Goes down nice and smooth :y
Tryed JD a couple of times and it was rather brillant ::)

I heard you were converted at EA on Friday night and now have quite a taste for the stuff. ::)
-
It has been one of my regrets in life (you can tell I haven't had many!) that I never liked whiskey. All the craftsmenship that goes into it compared with the churned out Vodka for example.
I do like a nice sherry though. That is a crafted drink too. So many more forms than your Harveys Bristol Cream drunk by the thimbleful by WI ladies. Went to a bar the other day and they produced chilled glasses before serving!

Well after the amount of porky pies he told on Friday night, I think he can give Loo-Knee a good run for his post count ;D ;D...........we should have a poll on whether to change Moanalot's Forum name to SirLiealot :y ;D
-
I love the taste but have some heartburn remedy ready and waiting.....
.....of course you hate the stuff Sir Pissedalot ;D ;D
-
I have had to Vote "Its Lovely" but I do mean the Malt Whiskey that "My Dad" and "Countess" have me hooked on ;)
-

That's been my problem lately. I had a really baggy head the following day after a small galss! :'( :'( :'(

Now you're talking, varche :y :y

I've voted appropriately but I don't think I'll be drinking it in any measure more than a taster in future... It doesn't affect me in a nice way (and I'm not referring to the morning after) and Mrs LD doesn't like the results so.... Not going to be drinking it again for a while.
It's strange how it changes people so much though ::) ::) :-? :-?
-
I Voted, guess......... :D :D :D
-
couldent beat a brown or black bush, and of course im supporting my local economy! had to slow up though as it was a bottle for week days and another for weekends! partial to a grouse also [smiley=tongue.gif]
-
Had a couple of glasses of Bushmills the other evening... Made a nice change to have some whiskey from Ireland rather than my normal whisky (note lack of the e) from up this neck of the woods....
I invariably have a dram before bedtime. Like Ms Zoom, prefer it neat but also partial to a goodly ice cube with the straight from the cask, full strength types. Brings out the best of it. Thins the blood and good for the pin, doncha know..... ;)
-
either straight eg if im out fishing off a boat etc, or a few ice cubes or if goin to be on it all nite cheap lemonade, not coke. very expensive but i like the single ten year malt as well.
-
oban malt for me :y, however i would have liked to have tasted the one mike had at ea, but someone drank it all didnt they sir m. :'(
-
rather hate the stuff, much prefer brandy personally. Unfortunately brandy really doesnt like me and will need a whole packet of Gavascon to calm the heart burn. Shame as i let slip one xmas and was given 3 or 4 bottles, can barely drink it now and had to give it away.
-
fraid i can not stand the smell of it due to the fact got slighly peed on it when i was a young lad !1968 never touched a drop since .some five bottles went down at ea so did a couple of the oofers.it was a great weekend :D :D :D :D ;D :y
-
cant stand the smell let alone the taste
:-[ :o,and im scottish :-?
-
I take it you are referring to Bourbon or Irish whiskey, not scotch whisky?
:-?
If it's scotch you are talking about, I can manage a fair few halves.
SWMBO says too many! 8-)
What does she know, it's lovely! :D

Thank goodness I was not the only one to pick up on the 'e'.
Sorry, this is coming from someone who works in the scotch whisky industry.
Maybe thats why I like it so much?

I'm no expert but blends are a tad rough & as Lizzie said i only take it in a nip or dram? It's not a drink to mix.
Is it J&B that's an Irish whiskey? Love that!!!! :P
