Title: Spot the differences....
Post by: hotel21 on 17 February 2007, 14:09:37
A small Saturday puzzle for you.

Was browsing my favourite auction site whilst enjoying my lunchtime coffee, using one of my standard search queries.  Up popped this....

spot the differences (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OPEL-OMEGA-MV6-ELITE-3-0-AUTOMATIC_W0QQitemZ290084348795QQihZ019QQcategoryZ10404QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

The obvious ones that I saw at first were:-

Opel badging
W plate registration
MV6 badge on the offisde rear only
No boot spoiler
Elite leather memory interior
early prefacelift buttons on the dash - check to the left of the radio
Elongated engine plenum
possible real Xenon headlights (or that type of light switch, without headlamp adjustment)

No doubt there are other things as well, but I smell a probable lemon (or a good fixer upper for someone....)

B

Shouldn't it have the radio controls on the steering too?

that MV6 is about as bent as Dale Winton, MV6 badge on boot is no no, wrong leather, no steering wheel controls, CDX alloys... who knows what spec that car really is!

Weren't omegas in (southern) ireland badged as Opel? ... one possible source ... but they look like GLS wheels ... come to think of it, isn't the elite badged MV6 in some countries?

EDIT: I'm thinking of facelift GLS wheels ... which are shiny pre-facelift CDX ones ... duh !!!

as a fixer-upper it might be hard to resell at a decent price ...

Is it me or does it have rear door pockets also noticed although it has memory drivers seat the rear bench isn't heated.

My guess is its a rebadged cdx and not an MV6  :-/

More likely to be a 2.5 imo

I thought only the 3.0 had that extended plenum?  Agree to CDX rims and pre facelift switchgear, but should have stering wheel radio control surely?

mini facelift 3.0's had extended plenum, 2.5's never got it... even facelift Omega with the 2.5 fitted never got the extended plenum  :y

a plate check reveals that it is indeed a 3.0 Opel, but although registered W it was manufactured in 1999

i've seen other W reg omegas that are pre-facelift model but only Opel

still not guaranteed MV6 tho
