I only got to go on the Saturday with the Monza and ABS stand looked a bit sad out on a limb and with few Omegas. How do we get to have our own stand? I noticed the Vectra C forum had one and they dont charge membership ?? Cavalier, Calibra, Vectra, Nova.... everyone had a stand but us :'(

Very nice car, Mike!  8-)
I had a good look at it, and then you came over to speak to Sess at CIUK, so had another look.

Gratz on the award with the 'Snorers too.

Decided on Saturday morning to go for the day and went in our lass's Omega estate.
Carlton all ready to go, but no t&t on it yet due to "governmental enforced financial restrictions".

How do we get to have our own stand?

OOF needs to become a member of the VBOA to have an "official" stand at Billing.
As I understand it, there needs to be proof the club has been running 'properly' for two years before an application is considered.

Congrats Mike  :y

We wont go for VBOA status, no where near their criteria of paid for membership, paperbased as well as online club etc etc etc.  Not what OOF is about

As I see it, you only really need to affiliate with the VBOA for Billing.
There is the "back door" route - like Total Carlton were annexed to the VDOC, although thy still pay yearly subs. It was a get-in-quick solution which seems to work well, and the VODC stand this year was quite large and very friendly.

But, there's nothing to stop a group of like-minded people from booking a weekend and all turning up in cars from a single manufacturer............
The VBOA might not like it, but where in the Constitution of this Land (or even Billings' own rules and regs), does it say otherwise?  :y

An extract from Alf Langley, Billing ABS post regarding the judging of cars and voting etc.....hope they don't mind me copying this ::)

''I must say the standard of the cars was outstanding, this was reflected in the voting, we (the Committee) had the unenviable job of trying to decide which cars should receive the honour of 1st place when the voting was tied, I thought that was hard, then we had to decide which of the Class winners would be Car of the Show, unfortunately our voting was split and we ended up with a situation where one member had to make the final decision, I have never known it to be so close and this is a reflection on the sheer hard work put in by all the owners, so often the difference between 1st and 2nd place was minimal, all I can say is well done to everyone''
