Title: vulcan at lowestoft air show
Post by: mantagte on 16 July 2009, 15:17:35
The world famous Avro Vulcan bomber has been given the thumbs up to fly just nine days before it is due to appear at the Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival.

23rd and 24th july hope the weather is ok

The Vulcan is scheduled to fly on both days of this summer's event in Lowestoft, which takes place on Thursday and Friday next week. Other aircraft due to appear include the world-famous Red Arrows, a Spitfire, a Hawker Hunter, wing walkers and aerobatic displays.

Dont want to rain on your parade but the Vulcan is develpoing a bit of a reputation for no shows and no flights.....

I wouldnt get too excited just yet, we have twice made journeys in the expection of it flying, and it hasnt, so dont believe you are going to see it until it is actually in the air in front of your own eyes......!!!

I was fortunate to be passing Waddington last July when local radio said it would be arriving and doing a practice display, so got to watch it for 30 mins.....

Watched it as a kid at airshows 20-30 yrs ago and it was so emotional to see it again.....

Fingers crossed for you and rest assured its bloody worth the trip......

I'm working at a display with the Coastguard at the seaham Show direct on the coast, sunderland is only 5 miles down the road so I can watch everything from there. If it does fly I will try to get a couple of pics of it.
