Title: Got my leather seats working!!
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 20 February 2007, 17:54:23
Thought I'd have a play tonight, at getting the leather seats to work. I followed Jaime's diagram, and hey presto, drivers seat springs into life!!

Lovely... I should be able to fit it all in tomorrow.... ;D

excellent news James..... I was wondering about that.... whether in fact the seller was just too bone idle to check the fuse.....  or had already disconnected the 12V feed while ripping something else out....

Use proper leather cleaner....soap and water dries it out and makes it crack....

I have that same stuff you have, not the conditioner though.

What's the name of that stuff Mark?

What about soap and water, followed by leather cleaner/conditioner straight away?

This is the stuff I use.....soap and water will just shrink and dry the leather...

Or, buy some of the disposable wipes from the super market, they dont clean as well as the stuff above but are better than soap and water.

You can use soap, but only saddle soap.  As many horses as there are around here you ought to be able to find it, but car leather stuff is fine too.  If it's been a while then conditioner is important.

DARN BLOODY BUGGER SH*TBAGS %"£$%"^ !!!

Just ripped out my cloth interior, fitted the leather. Back is all in and OK - front seat - out OK - went to fit the leather one.. it lines up Ok, but because the runners are different, it means the bolts for the rear are too short  :'(

Did Tunnie not give you drivers seat bolts (we didn't have the others)?

How many of the longer bolts do you have

I ended up using the shorter ones for the front and longer ones for the back

Worked a treat

Hope this makes sense :y
