Title: Just met up with........
Post by: x25xe on 21 February 2007, 14:11:33
............tunnie who came over to my works to show me the Senator.  A great guy with a great car!

I must say that the car drove beautifully and sounded even better.  The purr of the straight 6 at idle and the growl at kick down - lovely.

Cheers Tunnie for making the effort to come over - it was nice to met up.  Wish you all the best with your Europe trip and if you need that inverter, just let me know.

I now look forward to meeting more members of this great place on Saturday!

Must be a different Tunnie, with a different Senator then :p

All joking aside, I've found Tunnie to be a welcoming, friendly, pleasant guy, always willing to assist :y

I won't mention the Senny though ;)

Actually, I will.

Senators have never been a car that have floated my boat, and they have a (deserved) reputation for being rust buckets.

Tunnie's one is no different imho.

However, for £300, he seems to have got himself a nice big motorway cruiser, that appears to be reliable, and will be ideal for his trip in the summer.  So from that point of view, its a bargain, and he would have struggled to do better....

Agreed, there is a fair amount of rust.  It is a shame that Vaux could not have made them more rust resistant.

Also, for the purpose he bought it for, it will be more than ideal, bit and comfy and, hopefully, reliable.

I wish him all the best with his trip.
