I posted up two "Wanted" ads, and they've been deleted. *edit* with no explanation either, I might add.
I can understand the post count thing for selling, but for wanting to buy from OOF members?
That's bizzarre. :-/
I would prefer to buy from an OOF member, but it seems that it's not allowed - despite being physically able to make the posts and there being summat to say that "You can make start new threads" Now it reads that I cannot start new threads.
Perhaps it's this sort short-sightedness of the admins that's made a few peeps bugger off in recent days?

You're best bet is either PM a few breakers directly, it's quite apparent who the are in the parts section. Alternatively post your wanted ad in the test section and PM an Admin asking nicely if they'll move it :y

[movedhere] Omega General Help [move by] Auto Addict.
Unfortunately, the software cannot distinguish between wanted and selling, if, as Wellung suggested, you contact an Admin first, I'm sure you will be accommodated.

Yep, done that with no joy, hence the attempt at sticking wanted ads up! ::)

I shall have a go - cheers! ;)

There was a few x-members that took the money & allegedly did a runner & so the safe gaurds where put in place. This was some time ago.
As Lee says, right your post in the test section & the Admins will gladly move it for you :y The Admins are far from short sighted & in my opinion (many other's too) they do an excellent job.

T'was I who deleted them. The wording was short and to the point (as adds should be) but without even a nod to forum guidelines or asking tacid permission from admin to move......
Facelift estate rear bumper wanted
Colour doesn't matter as long as it's a good bumper with no erm, bumps in it!
Mine still has it's towing covers etc, so if yours hasn't, no problem
Will collect up to 100 miles from York, also willing to pay courier costs if further away.
The other was similar.
No great probs whatsoever with wanted adds, just place them in test and request that they get moved, please.
Simples!

Thanks for the info - once explained, it's understandable.
I have posted in the test section.
My point was that the posts were allowed to be made in the "Wanted" section, but there was no need to ask permission, so I simply did it.
Then deleted with no explanation, so that was the cause of my confusion :D
Once Auto Addict had explained about the board software, then fair enough - just would have been nice to have been told why the ads were deleted, is all! :y

They weren't. They were made in GenHelp, not parts for sale/wanted. Thats the other reason they were simply deleted. ;)

Even this thread was started in the wrong section and was moved here by AA..... :y
edit to add - the above quote appears at the bottom of a thread after it is moved from section to section.

Not like me to abuse a forum like that - I honestly thought I'd done it in the "wanted" section.
My sincere apologies.
Being a mod on another VX forum, that's unforgivable - please beat me with sticks if you ever see me in the future! ;D
(Sticks to be small lollipop sized though!!!)

LOL - Its not the crime of the century... ;D
As said already, the forum software simply blocks anyone trying to post in the parts wanted unless they have 250 postcount, or 50 postcount for cars. reason for the difference is that its more likely that a car buy/sell deal will be done face to face rather than the postie struggling to get a whole Elite through a letterbox, if you follow.... :y

I understand the post count need for selling, but why not just set the forum up so anybody can post a Wanted advert regardless of post count?
I know the software can do it, because I have my forum set up that way already.

No it can't, not without creating yet more boards.
