mate of mine said to steer clear of tesco. any thoughts?
-
Sainsburys, never had any issue's with Tesco's either.
Especially as they're only 99.9 diesel at the moment cheaper than petrol :o
-
Wherever it's cheapest ;D
-
There was a story a few weeks ago about a couple of Tesco stores pumps being incorrectly calibrated and delivering incorrect amounts of fuel. All sorted now though!
All petrol comes from the same refineries in the UK. So effectively Shell, BP, Tesco, Asda etc are all getting the same base fuel. The only difference is the additives that each individual retailer adds to there fuel.
In effect crude oil comes into the refinery. This crude has to be within acceptable parameters. Refinery then makes the petrol and the tankers line up to be filled. Once filled additives are put in depending on where the fuel is destined for.
Only difference between say Tesco and BP is the additives that are added to the fuel! :y

tried thier premium petrol last time I filled up, was susking on fumes so thought it was worth a try. Cant say as I see any difference,
-
It's mine once I've paid for it!!

I avoid supermarket fuel, and favour, in this order...
Shell
BP
Esso
-
Sainsbury's most of the time, but sometimes Esso :y
-
wherever its cheapest, tried the supposedly super duper shell/bp etc,Im convinced it makes no difference at all.
-
Shell - 1st - 99% of time
BP - 2nd
-
Tesco, or nearest cheapest
-
I filled up with Tesco's diesel today...60 odd litres...that filled the tank...i can hold 70 litres....but with a voucher for 5p off a litre it made it 94.9ppl :y :y
I dont care where i buy diesel.....cheapest gets the vote for me :y :y
-
Mainly BP petrol but at a push if i have to ESSO or SHELL.
:)
-
Usually my local Tesco's. Use super-unleaded lately :y
-
Frequently, supermarket fuels do tend to come from Eastern Bloc, and have a low octane rating, boosted with ethanol.
I use whatever is nearest, seeing as I'm usually down to fumes ::)
-
It is amazing how far you can get on Fumes, only tried it once mind but wont do it again. ;)
-
Try and stick with shell, but as with most migs the empty mark on the fuel gauge is in sight far too quick so sometimes end up just going to the nearest place!
-
Who said i pay for my petrol???? ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
only joking..... ::) ::)maybe ::) ::)
-
I never have any problems with Texaco, or Tesco.... Petrol or Diesel...
:)
