Title: Farford Later today
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 17 July 2009, 11:53:46
Off on my annual camping trip to Fairford in an attempt at catching a brief glimpse of some aircraft from a pub garden!

Take a snorkel then!  ;D

We've had lots of heavy rain this morning with the usual flooded roads.
Hopefully the ground can soak it up or else  :-X

That reminds me, I must arrange the boys weekend away - twice a year the around 4 or 5 of my old work colleagues go over to France/Belgium for a weekend of beer, beer, beeer, and beer. And there is always a thing of how cheaply we can get and stay there for.  I'm going to have to try really hard to get a worse hotel than the last fleapit....

Fantastic weekend and at last, I saw the Vulcan fly!

They came in to land directly over our tent (the runway lights were about 30m away!) so some fantatis sights and sounds!

for a while  :)  .. we wandered the line as you do, got down to 558 to take a few piccies and I thought ... looks like they are crewing in .. so we hung about a while and had a perfect view of the startup /taxi out ...  :)

Not planned but worked out well ..  :)

I was stationed between the Jubilee Garden and the FRIAT grandstand all day, dead on crowd centre so got a good view of most displays :y

I'll have to sort out my pics, get them on Flikr or Photobucket and post a link to the album because there's far to many to put up here ::)

if MDTM took them in the state he was in, they would be out of focus. and pointing the wrong way
