As the old communist states run down their civilian state enforcers, we create new ones. Money saving or the start of anarchy and chaos?

The thing is Martin, these people operate outside the usual sphere of our lives. I dont know the last time you were out and about late at night when these people come to life, but I know it was a long time ago for me.
It's the youngsters these people will mainly deal with, and they may grow to accept it.

It is OK there are only 1400 of these people that can issue fines and fixed penalty type notices , sort of like 3rd class policemen.

The most reassuring part is that they have all had training so "our" data that they can access on the police computers is in safe hands. I wonder if they are vetted before being given the training and access? Now that is a bit of a worry........

.....and all the while, a much grander plot takes precedence within the lofty elements of this government, rather than discharging their elected duty of running this country in the most sensible, caring and balanced way - for the benefit of all - their attention lies elsewhere.

Worth sticking it out......

I am sure that once a new Conservative Government is elected all these strange, crazy New Labour decisions, along with actions, will be reviewed and reversed. :y :y :y :y

Power will be re-established for the Police, with more uniformed officers on the street and 'cheap' alternatives to them swept away 8-) 8-) 8-) :y

If not, I'm emigrating!! ;) ;)

Whilst the nation is spoon-fed the thoughts and dictats of self serving politicians.....petty and pointless new laws and strictures, are made (daily) to enslave us in a straight jacket of fear and loathing.....and our children are gawking mindlessly at Big Brother (and it`s ilk) instead of thinking and 'living'. :'(

And still our once 'Great' Britain sleepwalks into becoming a police state.......do we make a stand; or is it yet too late? :-/

There was a time when I would have held that view Lizzie but sadly the two main parties are vying for the popularist vote and they are behaving like those street-racers in cheap films, that take turns in accelerating to get ahead.

The precipice is likely to go un-noticed as they have eyes only for each other and POWER! ::)

That said I don't go to towns at night - except on holiday - for food

Few politicians have the common sense to drop powers
