Amazingly found this on BBC..... :o :o :o

We should all send this link to our MP's. Tell them to get off the band wagon & to also stop taxing us for something we're still unsure as to why it's happening. What goes around, comes around & it will for many many years to come.
-
That gives a very straightforward answer in terms of the affects of global warming ::)........I am now convinced :-/
-
Exactly!

No government around the world is going to back track on this yet, they need "enviromental taxes" more now than ever, maybe in better times they will say we have now fixed the climate problem but need to keep the taxes in place to keep on top of it. It is much like road taxes, the road users pay far more than is needed to maintain our road network. But do we see any reduction in it ?

Thanks, Gaffers. Good link! :y
Very interesting that the BBC are carrying this. The truth is surfacing, albeit slowly.

Seems that the notion of having predictions based on the latest data sets has been going for a while...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8050094.stm
irrespective of where the science takes us, the end result will always be the same...........

More broadly, the government is only recommending an allowance for how much carbon we should use.
Given that climate change is now threatening irreversible catastrophic changes to life on Earth, as Nasa's Jim Hansen projected recently, surely governments should set rules for economic behaviour that causes climate change, rather than guidelines.
Implicit in the concept of carbon labels is that our private choices are always in line with the public interest, namely curbing carbon emissions.
.....the text highlighted gives an indication of what's in store for each and every one us.

My re-highlighting of an absolute untruth. :(

Here's a good paper (in PDF format) by the Australian Joanne Nova:
http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/images/stories/papers/originals/climate_money.pdf
It's all about money (no surprise there, then). >:(

maybe in better times they will say we have now fixed the climate problem
What amazes me is that there are actually people out there who truly believe that money can beat mother nature.

i've said this before - so excuse me - we're in an ice age at the moment - evidenced by the ice at the poles of our planet, most of the time through earths history theres no ice at the poles - so for the ice to be melting and receding is no great surprise....
what is a problem is our rapidly depleting natural resources - thats what i'd be worried about.....if i gave a monkeys..... :y
