Wouldn't have thought so ... unless they have updated some of your software along with the firmware ...

Why would they update software and firmware and would they let me know or is it just done automatically :-?

Firmware is automatic updated ... it is the BT Broadband /home hub software ... constantly updated...

Its more likely to have been a download to the PC that then updated the hub.....

BT Home Hub updates itself automagically without any user intervention. There has not been an update for some time to my knowledge though, so yours may have been restarting as part of a resynch.

As far as your icons (in your sys tray bottom right?) go, are you referring to some BT connection applications or perhaps a firewall or wifi connect utility?

edit-  leave contacting BT until you are at the point of throwing the hub through the window. The reason why will become obvious when you do finally try it.   :D

So you have a frog USB modem not a BT hub, that explains everything.   ;D
