A great man and a true ambassador for English football. :'(

:( Shocking news , everybody knew he was ill , but having fought cancer for so many years , it was a real shock for him to finally succumb to this horrible disease . The news has been taken badly here in Newcastle , where he was much loved, a lot of people very upset by it . A true measure of a man when few people had a bad word to say about him . He was a true gentleman.

Lived a couple of miles away in High Urpeth, a true gentleman and ambassador for all that was right about football. On Sunday when he appeared in a wheelchair at the charity game I had a feeling that it was his final appearance, he had to see the players and fans one last time.God bless.
