Thinking of starting to build an Ark ::)
As a kid I certainly don't remember rain in August holidays does anyone else?

Its because of the Jet Stream, its normally alot further North :(

You don't mind the odd day of rain but everyday is rather depressing like you say...
I have looked on the link Pete has posted and it looks to be here for over a week longer :(
We are booked up to go to Cornwall next Saturday for a week but looks like we will be giving it a miss seems a waste of money :-[

looking at that by the end of the week it might get warmer :y
At least the wife and kids have good weather with the inlaws http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/europe_forecast_48hrs.asp?locationID=2704 8-)

I'm afraid we managed a barbecue last night and sat outside until gone 11pm. The forecast said we couldn't do it though.
The SE corner does seem to miss a lot of the damper stuff.

It does generally Chris, but we have had a lot for us recently :'( :'(
In fact, although I live in a 3rd floor flat, I have mounted a boat outside my lounge window! :o :o ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
Well I live next to old watercress fields, with a river, so you cannot be too carefull ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) :D :D

Don't know if it's selective memory or reality, but I seem to recall that, when I was a child, we had sun in the summer, rainy spells either side and snow in the winter!
i.e. distinct seasonal variation giving rise to distinct seasons.
-
we must be lucky over here, yesterday was our worst day of continous rain. i normally have to work outside and i got a bit wet but every other day has been showers inbetween glourious sun. bit overcast at min but not wet!

Now we have just 2 seasons. Light grey sky season & darker grey sky season ;D

Will I ever get to replace the bodged head gasket? :(

Last rain we had here was 6th JUNE and didn't amount to much. Send some here please!
The old guys sitting in the bar nursing one drink all night while playing dominoes bemoan the modern day lack of rain. Of course most of southern Spain will be desert before too long.
Anyway think of the positive side. No hosepipe bans, water companies save on infrastructure projects so bigger dividends, people can waste water willy nilly like leaving taps running, sprinkler watering their manicured lawns etc etc.

You have been in Spain too long Varche!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
You have forgetton how the utility companies always find new ways to charge us more. The water companies, and the river authorities, for instance will soon be talking about even more money being required for flood defences and rebuilding storm water drainage schemes, now we have too much water, and that money will come from one source - US!!!! ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Too much, too little, it makes no difference we will still pay even more :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

That would be what Mr Bill Bryson rightly called "like living in Tupperware". You won't want me to say it but it is 36 deg C, not a cloud in the sky. I don't miss the grey one bit.

Im getting peed of with the wet stuff, seems like when im at work it aint been to bad, soon as i clock off work it starts.
The front lawn is loving it, im just waiting for a lion to jump at me out one day, as i arrive home. :D

Not really it only takes an hour to change front pads ;D
-
i bought a pop up gazebo not for garden parties or barbecues, but for working on the car as i'm so fed up of being interrupted / stopped entirely by rain!
they're down to £40 or so in the discount warehouses, and one man can put em up. better with help of course, but still takes little more than a minute :y
been wanting to build a garden shed since may tho.......that does need sunshine!
hey ho, at least good times can be had indoors ;) ;) ;)
-
i just had a stupid thought,
maybe i could get one of them for my lawn and cut one square at a time lol :-*
-
Well here in Ashford, Kent it is now getting darker and darker, with the promised heavy rain clouds now building in formation for the next attack!! :( :( :( :( :(
Man the lifeboat stations!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
-
The seasons are up the wall. We seem to get Autumn between October and March, summer any 2 weeks in April/May and then a rainy season between June and September :(
-
As far as the voices in my head are concerned? - Never :D :D :D :D :( ;D
-
It has been raining here for some time now and it is so miserable and dark...for August!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o
Time for bed soon perhaps!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
-
Sporadic showers all day here. Got a nice workshop for tinkering & 2 cars that need nothing doing!!
What pee's me off most is that on a grey miserable day the temp's still up & it feels muggy & humid. If the sun' not out i'd rather it were cold. ::)

The Atlantic charts just show one depression after another sweeping across the Atlantic towards us. I love looking at the satellite photos, especially near dawn and dusk, as the sun casts great shadows off the high rainbearing clouds. The swirls of cloud can be very dramatic.

Its stopped here in South Devon!!!!!
Damn, no - I forgot I had my hat on. :'(
