Ok....so i have my new toy....a netbook :)
Ive put IE8 on it, but it doesnt want to log on as TD when i come onto OOF, automatically, I have to logon each time.
I thought it was a cookies issue, but ive tried lowering the privacy setting to 'accept all cookies' but it still doesnt want to play ball.
Its probably a silly setting, i havent found yet, so i thought id ask.....other IE8 users....have you had the same prob? :-/
Only other thing to mention, is that since using IE8, when i do logon to OOF, i get the spoofing error message that i seen others mention.....never had that warning before using IE7.
-
It forced me to accept that I needed to move to Firefox - so I did
-
I get that too mate, well happens on one of the laptops not on the desktop or other lappy.
-
Just discovered.....at the moment its only happening on OOF......other forums that require username and password work fine for me.....ie close the IE tab....reopen it....goto the site...and im logged straight back in automatically :-/
-
Have you added OOF to the compatability list?

Just tried your suggestion m8.....
omegaowners.com is now the only entry....
Closed the tab....opened a new one...and still had to log back on manually :(
So unless you have to restart IE, it didnt work :(
-
Worth a try, it's how I solved the problems I had on Windows 7 RC1 and IE8 using OOF.
-
Other than occasional rendering issues, I've had no hassle with IE8, and I use it with OOF

Any idea why, everytime i log in, manually, i get a spoofing message?

Just delete your cookies again
Also, are you using your own home broadband?

If i use www.omegaowners.com , then i have login manually and then get the spoofing message...
If i use www.omegaowners.com/forum/yabb.pl......
then i get logged in automatically and no error message :y

Do you log outy of OOF ...if you dont oof will remember your IP and when you log back in using www.omegaowners.com...it basically sees somone else trying to log in with the sdame IP adress ...if you use www.omegaowners.com/yabb.pl......whateaver it will see your previous session and oof will know who you are ....Hope that makes sence ? :y

Can't explain why it does that...
-
Those sorts of things take a lot of explaining ………….
In a nutshell what its doing is
Its remembering a web session …..if “I” log out its says bye bye …if I just click off in the top right corner it doesn’t see me leave the forum….so when I log in again from “my “ computer it sees my IP address been presented to the website again but it still thinks im logged in because it hasn’t seen me leave

I dont log off, just close the session......
However there must be a timeout thingy or else, everyone that just closes the session, without logging off, would be shown as 'online' all the time.
I also use two ip addresses on the same pc.....i now use a netbook mostly....and have voda dongle for it....so at home i use my adsl connection.....when im out i use the dongle :y

The only thing i could think off, is IE8 is getting upset with redirection www.omegaowners.com does and it doesnt think the cookie is valid :-/

My IE8 (the one that comes with Win7) works fine.

I know it's not very constructive to say it but have you tried using Firefox or Opera. They are both a lot better than IE and can be downloaded for free. I was skeptical before I tried Firefox but was surprised how much better than IE it was. Although this was in the days before IE gained tabbed browsing.
