Ex-Cabinet minister Hazel Blears has had her car vandalised in daylight hours whilst she was canvassing:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8192919.stm
Now I would not condon a criminal act, including vandalism for any reason. In this case, listening to locals comment on the news that everyone "knew her car", it would seem her car was targeted.
Given how and why she was forced to resign, with the infamous "rocking the boat" broach, would / could this vandalism be ever justified as 'direct action' by anyone with a grudge?? Or roundly condemed??
It was interesting to note that of the people interviewed in her constituency there seemed litttle sympathy for her!! ::) ::)
What do you think? :-/ :-/
-
Just heard this on the news. She blamed it on local louts, but the plod confirmed that it was only her car targeted ......
can't imagine why! :-? :-X :y :y :y

I really cannot understand why politicians still think they can feed us hog-wash.
Any person with a tiny bit of intelligence will see that the car has been singled-out. She says it's nothing to do with her recent history (my words). She cannot possibly know that without asking the person who did it! She doesn't know who did it.
She is telling porkies and doesn't realise! It is endemic, in her blood, second-nature, intrinsic, automatic...
She needs to go on a truth course (if this country has one).

You are dead right!! :y :y :y She is the last politician I would trust ::) ::) ::) :P :P

Reaping that which was sown comes to mind ;) ;)
There is reason to consider the potential of such an incident however. It seems that there is precious little tolerance remaining in some of the voting public – which is understandable - and that like incidents are all too probable.
That isn't necessarily a good thing :(
-
She'll probably put the repairs on her expenses ::)
-
I couldn't stand the woman before she was caught out . She managed to get her picture in the local paper every week for months ,people became sick of the sight of her. I cant remember one good thing she did . unless i can be corrected Ive no time for her or her politics

I can never agree with any vandalism, but it just goes to show that the public has had enough, It is only a matter of time before "WE" do things for ourselves, like putting bin liners on speed cameras.
-
I'm not surprised either, nor the only one who thinks she'll make a claim for the repairs via government fund !! ::) .
Let's face it, there's only a very small number of true MP's that really & genuinely want to make real common sense changes to our land, unforturnately it's those MP's that will never get to the top.
And I think the country already knows that these days, that the majority are coming across as MP's whom only want to better themselves, not what their constituants want.
Enough said.

This is a root cause of the stench in modern politics -- the "career MP". We have a fair few down here -- young lads, still wet behind the ears and with zilch in the life experience department.
Until MPs became too big for their boots and started running unchecked, politics was a vocation and not something you did for the materialistic rewards (as there were few of those). Unfortunately this also had the effect of limiting those in politics to those who could afford it by their own means -- so was, in some ways, self defeating!

Funny you should say that HC. I was watching the video on the vandalised car on the BBC News at 1800, and after that rechecking the video on the link I posted initially, I swear Blears car was parked on double yellow lines when attacked. Further evidence of her thinking "one law for her, another for us peasants??? >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
I think you are right there, Lizzie. She is just within the lines as far as I can see !!!
-
Yep, ran it a couple of time's, yellow lines towards junction and she is on them.
-
I thought my eyes were not deceiving me!!
I bet she is not issued with a ticket!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

Hazel Blears thinks that her car being vandalised was the work of ''a tiny minority''.
A one-eyed albino lesbian Phillipino dwarf with a club foot is helping police with their enquiries.
