I thought the CFLs were dangerous in bathrooms

what a joke, so weve got to use bulbs that you cant throw away, if broken you have to evacuate the surrounding area, & i read somewhere that workers in china making these things are dying due to the mercury build up in their bodies, the one thing i cant work out is why dont they make domestic bulbs with LED`s? or am i missing something >:(

I think they are coming, certainly with low voltage bathroom etc lighting :y
I recently bought the new equivalent spotlight bulb to replace one of 8 in our kitchen, takes forever to warm up and is very poor compared o the usual ones we have fitted. Same bulb, however, as a reading light in daughters bedroom is good because flexible light but the bulb is much cooler, and OK once warmed up for bed time reading. It is all about choice, which yet again is being removed from us. Seems to me that there are lots of little things changing that we do not realise, but put together have a dramatic affect on day to day life. Rant over, sorry. >:(

I'm just about sick and tired of this "nanny" state that we now find ourselves in.
I'm afraid that we now find ourselves in a dictatorship.
Never thought I'd say this, but the first opportunity me and my family get to get out of this total disgrace of a country, and we're gone. Compare the so-called "freedom" we have over here to that they have in the States; anybody who had the opportunity to move over to the States and declines is, in my opinion, a screw loose.
We need to get out of the EEC, and get a leader who is actually elected...

I fear their new President may take them in a similar direction as us unfortunately.Bush restricted some of their freedom in the battle for "freedom & democracy" and there seem to be signs that Obama is a european style lefty who will carry on doing so,even if it is for diiferent reasons.
10 years ago I would have loved to have lived in the states but I,m not so sure now. :-/
Anymay, about those light bulbs, its rather disgraceful.I can hardly see a thing with those greenpeace approved things.Must try and locate a lifetime supply of 120 watt proper bulbs. >:(

My post is the company to use, I have used them before for 'odd' bulbs and had good service, I am stocking up with a few as well........ :y

When will these so-called "environmentalists" realise that the hole in the ozone layer, global warming, etc was caused by the industrial revolution? It's only now that we have the scientific capacity to realise such damage.
And I'm sure that these environmentalists never ever use anything that was made available as a result of the industrial revolution...
And it always gets me as to why our government targets us motorists who drive our "gas guzzlers" and "bangers" - we are a mere drop in the ocean when it comes to the worlds largest polluters. But then again, we are an easy target in terms of taxation...

The difference is Albs, the fact that the citizens stand up for their rights. Not like us "wet blankets" over here.
Look what happened over in the States when they were proposing to increase controls on gun ownership - the whole country united against it, and made their opinions heard. And they succeeded.
What happened over in this country? All handguns banned to us law-abiding people, but yet criminals can still get hold of them. And gun crime involving handguns has actually increased since the ban - not surprising really...
Sadly, in this once great country of ours, if you're a hard-working, concientious, patriotic, law-abiding person, you're screwed :( You're on a hiding to nowhere.

They do make LED lights, but people won't pay £30 for a lamp and the light output is not very directional.
