Title: insurance assesor
Post by: mantagte on 15 August 2009, 16:19:45
the insurance assesor who inspected my car after my wifes accident last month is a numpty
i requested a copy of the engineers report to confirm what the damage is and what a load of bull it is

he states my car is a 2001 2.2 gls manual

mine is a 1995 2.0 auto gls

he states i have aircon, steering wheel controls, 5 speed gearbox 16" alloys,225/55 vr 16 tyres, side airbags  and adjustable steering column

i have a normal heater,normal steering wheel,4 speed auto,15" alloys,195/65 v 15 tyres,no side airbags ,no adjustable steering column

on the parts required mainly rear bumper the part number he has down is 9120375
which if my inquires  are right is for the facelift
also rear inner lamp he has it down as 9193256 which again i think is for the facelift
if any one can confirm that would be great

should i get it reasessed by them or let the insurace company know :y

My guess is he has mixed his paperwork up --- let the insurance peeps know, if the car eventually goes for repair instead of being written off the garage will fall foul of being accused of getting the wrong parts and you will have no car until it's all sorted !

If you can see him again, maybe you should point out which one is his asshole and which one is his elbow.

Or you could accuse the garage of losing your car and demand the one described in your insurance report.

I agree HC :y :y  No doubt this assessor is like so many, travelling around filling in loads of form and finally dropped into an office the pile for that day. So it is probably someone in the office who has transposed the details.

If computers are used in this process at any stage, then it is easy to understand how it can happen!! ::) ::) :D :D :D

I once agreed to use my insurance company's approved garage as requested by the insurance company. The garage phoned me up to tell me what to say to the insurance company so that they could repair a bit more than what actually happended. Result - I had my rear quarter panel and boot lid repaired in addition to the damaged bumper.
