does anyone know if this is legal or not, an extension of 16 feet then another 12 foot entension added on to the back of the house. would the councils planning permission allow this??

Depends on the size of the original dwelling --- extensions and conservatories can only be a certain percentage of the original footpring AFAIK, will need Building Control
interference approval tho !
Doubt they'd leave that finish ( or lack of) tho !!!!

As HC says, you can only increase the size of you house by a certain amount and it varies depending on the area you live in. Its worth a call to your planning department :y

mates just told me its defiantly not legal, these bstrds next door to my mum are being a pain. i fronted them sunday and they run in the house and locked the door. >:( >:( >:(

Also the exterior has to be/ or of a similar finish of main building and blend in with local area.
I dont think they build houses out of concrete blocks

Just ask your local council to send someone round for a look - you are entitled to that from them.

In short, if it has foundations and is of a permanent structure, ie brick / block then you need planning permission.
If it is Upvc temporary structure lean to no foundations then no.
