I know it's in the Daily Mail, but it seems true nevertheless! ;)
Thousands of middle-class motorists who challenge speeding fines face having to pay most of their legal costs even if they win their cases.

Time to pull up the drawbridge and prepare the boiling oil methinks. >:(

Nice. So you are wrongly convicted but, because you're an evil motorist, you can bend over and pay anyway. >:(
This has to stop. :(

Oh, great! Summary justice being handed out now! Who needs courts, legal costs, etc. anyway when we have the Stasi?

But Chief Constable Mick Giannasi, in charge of roads policing for the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo), said: "By dealing with offences in this way, it can result in a reduction in the amount of time that police officers spend completing paperwork and attending court, while also reducing the burden on the courts and the taxpayer."
Money is our god. No mention of justice in the above quote from the BBC report.

The Spanish police have had the power (and use it) to dole out on the spot fines for motoring infringements.
They have even recently taken to stopping ALL traffic in one direction on a motorway and checking selected vehicles and waiving the rest through. They have a guy equipped with a stinger at the end of the cone funnel in case anyone tries to make a run for it. It takes an hour to clear the queue. Can't see that happening in Britain just yet. Maybe it will stop here when they have the first multiple pile up when traffic piles into the tail end.

It will soon be that if an offense can't be detected through a viewfinder or by the use of inadequately trained - for the most part - individuals given half-assed authority by dint of proxy, said offences will be disregarded as being too troublesome to prosecute.

.....need any more be said?

This is completely wrong. THe person (or body) that loses must pay. So hopefully people will blatently refuse to pay their (incorrect) fines.

Makes you proud doesn't it. Our boys fought in WW2 to preserve this country for generations to come, so that it would be a free and fair place to live for all.
Free from a dictator, and one where by every man, woman, and child, should ever feel that their beliefs or freedom is ever taken away from them, and justice shall prevail.
I salute you (the government) {says he sarcastically}, for taking away that right of what is truely ours, to harness everything of which we (all born in this country) work & pay for with our blood, sweat, and tears, to make a pathway for our next generation.
You (the government) are no better than those parties, past & present, whom preach upon us how better our lives are today - Yee have no faith for those without a looking glass !.
Freedom comes only truely to us upon the last breath we ever take, for only then will we (all) be free.
