Stood in the middle of Colchester today and an old fella politely asked me to point him in the direction of the bus station."certainly,go to the end of this street, turn right and its about 100 yards on the left."
He "replies, "oh no,its not down there,Im sure its more over that way"pointing in the opposite direction.
I just told him he would be better going "in that direction then" - bizzare. ::) :)
Mrs Albs reckons I attract them. :-/ :-[ ;D

He must have heard your accent Albs and thought, "Bloody typical this, stop and ask someone for directions and you always ask someone who's not from around here" ;D ;D ;D

Well, it's the only place I've ever seen chavs posing in an Allegro. Later the same evening I saw a modified Morris Ital doing laps of the town. 8-)
Given that I also owned one at the time I knew the place had hit rock bottom and started digging. ;)
Still had some good times there.

Ah, Colchester. Three l-o-n-g years at Cherry Tree Barracks. West Mersea was OK to escape to for a bevvy.
