Title: cat c write off
Post by: mantagte on 06 August 2009, 11:14:18
the engineer has had a look at the car and has classed it as a cat c write off because of the bulge in the boot floor  :(
he has estimated the value as £350 with a buy back option of £50
do i buy it back and repair it or should i say sod and buy something else?
had this one 5 years so it is part of the family so to speak
do i accept his figure as fact of what the car is worth

Buy it back and use it as a doner car for your next one mate or see if you can repair it.

Worst case, buy back for £50 and break.  Should make a few quid that way for recompense.

I think an omega would taste awful in pitta bread.

update

received two seperate cheques for the car one for £300 and one for £350
phoned insurers to ask why
they said the assesors had revalued the car and had come up with a figure of £700 less £50 salvage
well happy :y
do not not know if this is due to the concerns i raised or not aletter is on its way apparantly
