Sorry to hear about your Grandmother. These things are never easy to deal with and can only heal through passage of time. If you can't do it, you can't do it, nobody can blame you for that and I'm sure everyone will understand. It bad enough having to deal with the loss so nobody will pile on additional pressure.

Sorry to hear that, its not nice!
Try taking big slow breaths and concentrate on your breathing instead of whats going on around you.
I can also recommend 'bachs rescue remedy' available in boots, not sure if it calms you down but it provides some time out while you use it.

I'm sure you will be fine, good luck.

My sympathy goes out to you Lance, I don't think any of us are cut out for coping well with these kind of situations. Over the years I've lost both parents, all grandparents, quite a few aunts and uncles and a couple of very good friends. :'( Sad so they may be, the way I look at these occassions now is more to celebrate the life they shared with us when they were alive.

Nobody is going to think badly of you whatever your reaction maybe. Be calm, and I'm sure you'll be OK.

You'll find that a lot has changed in those 18 years LL and will probably be quite surprised in your ability to attend without experiencing the same trauma.

Honour your grandmother by attending, it's one of the few things that we who remain can do. :y

My sympathy for your loss.

There is no right and wrong way to deal with grief  different people cope in different ways

Time is a great healer and alhough your feeling pain just now it will fade through time.
try and focus on the good times  years from now they will be the memories you hold on to

Funeral day is the day for 'you', the bereaved; feelings and emotions will be freely felt and accepted by all.present.....there is no 'right way' to feel at such times; just 'your way'.
Go with the flow and remember the joyous, loving times shared with Gran. ;)
