Title: V-festival tickets - Iffy one's bought !
Post by: SJKOO01 on 20 August 2009, 23:13:49
At work today, and over heard (not that I was evesdroping you understand !), a couple of collegues talking and one of them had bought some V-festival tickets at an online site for themselves & friends to the cost of £1000, only to find out when they got them that they weren't genuine.  Opps..... !.

Then went on to say; They should hopefully get their money back as they bought them with a credit card ?.

What struck me was if the tickets were iffy, and they bought them at an unknown website with their credit card, what makes them think they haven't taken their money of their account to....  :o

As I understand it the credit card company will swipe the money back from 'the trader' if they can act quickly enough :y

I used to work for a major bank providing the facility to accept credit cards to retailers.

The system works in that the customer gets his money back from his credit card company, who in turn get their money back from the company who provides the facility to accept credit cards to the retailer, who if they are lucky get it back from the retailer.

Everything stacked in favour of the cardholder :y

Yeah know what you're saying, and hope they do get their money back okay.

Scary thought though how criminals are getting more tech & quick, that simple website that can be made to look slick, means that some people out there are finding out when they put their card in the hole in the wall to get some funds out that that's all it is now a vast hole, because their money has gone !!  :o .

Mind you, have to say that I wouldn't of paid £1000 for some tickets for the V-festival - Now Led Zepplin, now you're taking - of which I tried to get some when there were playing at the O2 area awhile back.
Have to say hated the "Hamster" for a few weeks after that has he managed to get some  :-X  ;D
