Title: The gadget show
Post by: STMO999 on 24 August 2009, 21:09:55
I like this prog., watch it every week. Tonight the two items that caught my eye were:
1) Electric bikes. They looked like push bikes but, of course were powered by electric motors in the hub. Very quick, great fun.
2)Video cameras. all singing all dancing. remarkable picture quality, good sound etc.

BUT.....I dont consider myself out-of-touch with the cost of things these days, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't pay £3000 for a motorised push bike or the best part of £1000 for a video camera.  :o

I have considered a new camcorder for a while, but I suppose the only way to go now would be a HD version.

Of the 3 I took a fancy to the PANASONIC HDC-TM300 32GB, had a look on the net tonight and found them from £725 delivered. So looking forward to them coming down in price a bit more.

there so called 'race' on the bikes was a joke,

The route took them all around the local roads around my work, several of the shots of his err 'progress' contradicted each other. One minute he was heading away from Oxford Street towards Soho, next shot, he was heading up the road TO Oxford Street, then he was shown heading to Soho Sqaure, and heading back up to.... you gussed it Oxford Street!  >:(

Suzi Perry makes up for it tho!  ;D

I paid £400 for a second hand camera and recorder in very late 1985.

(New was £1000)

Paid £600 for a Mini DV in 2003, managed £200 discount.

MiniDV has gone on an expense paid holiday to Sony for a new CCD (should be a FOC repair).

My old portable VCR still works!!!!
