Sky TV subscription and VAT changes: Prices shown apply from 1 September 2009 (packages £17.50 a month). Our current prices, which are shown on ordering, will apply to any period before 1 September 2009 in which your Sky TV account is active. From 1/1/10 prices will increase by no more than a £1 a month due to VAT change (HD Pack & Multiroom prices increase by 25p a month). Sky Box Office costs extra. Sky News and Sky Three are available without subscription; Sky Three, Ch4, Five, Five US and Fiver require a viewing card.

Whats changeing?
I am aware of http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/budget2009/bn71.pdf
What gets me is is that when the VAT went down we didnt get the benefits passed on to us by the likes of ISP Providers etc and take away food shops etc. But when it goes up I bet we see a change in prices. So why this comment from Sky. Surely when the VAT went down so should our monthly subscription, sadly not, but now they want the incrase to start now and decide to blame iton VAT. Who are they kidding.

My ISP reduced prices ;)
Of course the majority were not going to reduce prices when VAT dropped - you'd have to be a bit simple to think they would reduce prices on consumer products (and our leaders are very simple).

Edit = Just looked at my billing, so did my ISP :y
As expected most shops and loads of business just took it and smiled, I just hoped the ones that did dont take thepee wee when it goes back up.
