Because they wouldn't do it if you were there. I notice it said ONE passer by rescued the dog. They probably ran away once someone who could defend themselves appeared.

Alternatively - Thatchers announcement that "there is no such thing as society, only individuals"may not have helped matters. ;)

My philosophy: I'll look after me and mine. You look after you and yours. If everyone did this properly there wouldn't be half of this crap happening.

My niece visited today, she lives in Hampshire and is 19 years old. She is going, with her Australian boyfriend, to Australia, she has a visa for a year. I suggested that she did not come back, even if it meant getting married............ oh to be young and knowing what we now know.... ::) ::) ::)
-
I'm afraid it'll only get worse, like the man who got half killed by a bunch of thugs whilst riding home on his cycle yesterday in broad daylight :o.

Sorry Albs, But I don't buy in to that.
Thatcher was responsible for a lot of things, but she wouldn't have stood for half the politically correct 'dangle berries' that goes on today.
We were a pain in the arse when we were 9, 10, 11, etc....but the worst we contemplated was nicking the 5p deposit lemonade bottles from the back of the sweetshop and then taking them back in again.
We sure as shit wouldn't have backchatted an elder (other than maybe to call them old git), and any degree of violence was completely unheard of.
Why was it like that back then I hear you ask....
Simple mate...you got caught misbehaving and you got the clip round the lugs there & then.
You wouldn't run home to mummy & daddy claiming to have been assaulted, because you'd have got another good hiding straight away.
These days though, the pooftah PC brigade have seen to it you can't even so much as give your kids a slap across the backside without ending up on a nonces register.
I wonder if these lentil munchers would have the same attitude towards upbringing if my 11 year old decides to burgle their house when he is 18 and ends up kicking them in to a semi coma to earn £10 for a fix?

I completely agree with everything you say KW,i hate all things PC/nu liebour etc and am dismayed at the damage that they have done, but I dont believe that the problems with feral youth started in the late 90,s it was already happening before that,I do think that Maggies doctrine of grab what you can and break everyone else, seemed to encourage a degree of hard nosed selfishness which was previously frowned upon in this country, but the problem has been almost encouraged by what our current ruling class have let them get away with since they came to power. :y

...ase you sure on that one A? :-/ :-/
I thought she encouraged self motivation, respect of family and of institution and the desire to be free from state dependence by standing on one's own two feet.

I think she was mostly full of crap TBH ,she preached low taxation and small government.when she left office the tax burden was higher than when she came in and there were thousands more laws on the statute than when she arrived. She did some good imo,but nowhere near the amount that people claim she did with hindsight.I think there is a bit of rose tinted specs syndrome tbh.
She was the most hated PM in history and had no chance of a second term, until she went to the Falklands and single handedly defeated the Argies,or thats what the Sun told us all at the time. ;)

....still not sure A.
She had a right mess to clear up from the last Labour c o c k-up and to a large extent the next Premier will face many of the same problems, so kindly deposited by the present Labour government.
I only hope that the new incumbent exhibits the same strength of will and determination that identified Margaret Thatcher as one of the great Premiers :y
-

Sorry Albs, gonna have to dispute that as well mate.
When Nu Labia came to power, we had just over 4000 laws in force.
Since they have been in power, they have introduced just over 3,700 extra laws (that were all covered by existing law anyway).

well you might say that Zulu but...........Mastricht treaty............london/Dublin joint agreement thing..........etc,I dont think her gonads were as big as people remember them as being,If Scargill had 2 brain cells to rub together he could have finished her career long before her own spineless ministers did.Having said that I will admit that she did have bigger gonads than any of her succesorrs and imo,Dave boy Cameron hasnt got any and never will have.were all doomed I tell ye............ ;D

...I'm afraid that you might not be far off the truth there A.
On Artie Scargill - he wouldn't have got very far as he was well marked - know what I mean ;)
He would have been descredited big time in the event of the word coming down, rendering his position untenable.

If he had listened to advice and had a ballot I think she would have been in trouble,it seemed like the only big stick they had to hit him with. :-/

I misbehaved somewhat as a youngster & rightfully paid the price inside, but i can honestly say i never did anything as despicable as this.
They deserve the same treatment, see how they like it. >:(
