Title: How ridiculous!
Post by: Nickbat on 06 September 2009, 10:00:15
London Midland relies on drivers volunteering to staff trains on Sundays but said not enough had offered to work this week so services could not run...

This should be filed under "How not to run a business".

The stupidity is worse than that Nick,Sunday work was voluntary(which is ludicrous for a rail company)but was paid at double time,so they always had plenty of volunteers,so they decided to stop paying double time for Sundays.Wtf did they think would happen ? ::) ::)

That's why we've ended up with the very efficient rail system we have at the moment James, so it must have been the right approach to ensure that this vital national asset was in the most advantageous postiion to face the demands of the coming century. :y :y ::) :y :y
