Well due to some monster financial mismanagement the charity I work for is going into liquidation on Wednesday.
We help people with drug problems and we have 4000 clients on our books. Apparently there is someone waiting in the wings to take over on Thursday but as to what staff they have already is anyones guess.
Never been unemployed since I left school and to be honest am crapping myself! No redundancy dosh but can claim fron the government but that will take months to come through.
Roll on the benefits agency Thursday Morning, I hear they give you tea and cakes, is that true? ;D

Sorry to hear that.
My place has been in the news quite a bit recently, and still will be.
900 jobs going, even though the posted profits were 2.2billion.
Mite be joining you in that queue fairly soon.
Anyway, hope things brighten up for you.

Sorry to hear that Jon.

Sad news O during difficult times, hope you get sorted out soon if it comes to the point.
Still, here's hoping that the new administrators will be keeping the existing staff on board :y :y

That stinks mate. I hope you're kept on :y :y
I've been made redundant twice in less than a year & i bloody hated signing on. As far as i'm concerned it's the %$£*ing useless W bankers & this gutless government that should be signing on >:( >:( >:( >:(
I found another job about two weeks ago which i enjoy & the guys are easy to get on with :)
Keep ya chin up matey :y :y :y :y

Tea and cakes will cost you a pint of blood -- but to give blood you need to present yourself at the Inland Revenue Offices Transfusion Centre, not the Benefits Office ::)
Bad news tho matey -- chin up tho, GB will soon be joining you.

Well i'm still waiting to hear and have a team of 12 people looking at me for answers I cannot give them. To be honest I have never felt so much stress in my life. Basically we are hoping the new people are going to take some of us on but in the meantime are expected to carry on as normal but the people we help are devestated and there is snot and tears all over the place.
Local press have got onto it now which is good.

Thanks to those who wished me well and will update later.

Really sorry to hear. :(
I'm kind of sweating a bit with my job at the moment as its not looking good for my company at the moment. I've been here for over 30 years and to be honest the prospect of being out of work and having to find another job is frightening.
Hope thing work out. ;)
-
all the best m8 - hope it all works out for you ;)

Hope you can sort out something positive fairly soon. :y

As everyone else has said, hope it works out OK for you, and at least some if not all of you are retained at a minimum by the new employer :y
