Further to the thread elsewhere regarding Audi's and how desirable they are, heres a couple of piccy's showing what happens when you come to sudden stop.
Audi nil, tree won....
And the driver walked away, apparently. :o

Wow! Audi's are strong, but that was very lucky!
Looks like an RS6.

Yup, trees normally win

Not against my chainsaw.... ::)

Lucky it was a left hooker....
-
I think he or she was doing more than 30mph :o
-
1st pic looked like 2 audi's had smashed up !!!
-
I like the way they got a bandage straight on the injured tree. Ahhh.... ;D

Yeah, and the standard RS6 blown shock. Funky diagonally paired shock system. Almost always one blown, makes the limit much lower and very unpredictable. Must have been really moving to cut the car in half and not hurt the tree much.

The tree you see is not the one he hit to cause the damage.
Its the one behind the camera, the one you cannot see. Check the score marks to the left side where he was spinning before coming to a stop.
I have seen more than one similar over the years. No room for argument, I'm afraid...... :'(

A friend of a friend of my daughter, who happens to be the son of one of my wife's work colleagues, :-? was apparently a passenger in a car involved in a crash with a tree this week-end. He's now critical in hospital having had one & a half legs removed! He's 17. Makes you think.
-
.....Makes you think.
Yup.
It certainly does.
If the tree wins, its probably because it was there and breathing air before the person who hit it was.
Should not have tried to enter the tree space without an invite....... :'(

I wonder why the emergency services went to such pains to cut it open as they did. The driver could have been got out much simpler, and the passenger's seat doesn't have any signs of occupancy. Perhaps there was someone in the back?
One look at that passenger's seat makes me shudder though...

The structure of that Audi realy hasnt held up well.....ripping in two is not a great advert for them.
