Hardback is £5.99 in Smiths -- if you buy £20 of other stuff (irc).

This one isn't aimed at debunking the Catholic Church -- he has turned his attention to Freemasonry.

....perhaps he will have his tongue torn out by the root and be buried in the sands of the sea, at low water mark, a cable tow's length from the shore for his trouble - yes?

It's obvious he has never gone to a lodge or even spoke to a mason in his life.Seems he's done his research though the net only.

I am told by Mrs TB that Angels and Demons was the best of the books, yet only made a mildly entertaining film.  Good books rarely make good films.

Can't really comment due to only having read DaVinci Code (purely as I'd run out of my reading material in Egypt, where I spent an awful lot of time in 'The Reading Room'), but he was trying to portray it as a fictional story based on facts...

Having read the Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons before the films came out I was disappointed in the first film as the characters didn't match how I had imagined them -- second one was a little better, having by then got used to the characters.

Only 1 character appeared in both?

Films rarely live up to expectations if you've done the book, as part of reading is using your own imagination within the author's descriptive text

Granted -- but it happened to be the main one, and the one I had most problems with in the first place !!!

Actually it boils down to the casting being, in my opinion, better for As&Ds --- leaving out Hank's character.

The films were a big dissapointment after the books and I was put off by Tom Hanks, he wasn't what I imagined the character to be!
Films are never as good as books though, they can't be.

True !

When reading the books I had Anthony Stewart Head in my mind as the lead.

Sir Leigh Teabing was more of an older Timothy Spall.

Audrey Tautou was too fragile for Sophie's part.

But apart from that ........

Not too sure who I had in mind, but someone with more presence and sex appeal thats for sure! Tom Hanks felt like a bit of a washout!
