Has anyone added a second feed?
I was thinking of removing some of the blanking plastic that's between the 'ribs' on the trim panel next to the driver's side front fog lamp and routing another air supply to the airbox?
I have heard of airbox mods on the omega but no idea what they are?
Thinking that when my M-tek chip arrives any time soon and after the 3.0 cams, exhausts etc some more cold air wouldn't hurt

Well I got bored this morning so with my trusty stanley knife I cut away the plastic between the 'fins/ribs' on the f/o/s trim next to the f/o/s fog lamp.
I then cut two 1 1/2" holes out of the base of the airbox (each one either side of the current air feed) and then routed reinforced flexi pipe from inside the airbox to behind the modded trim panel.
See how the commute to work goes.....about 20 miles of dual/triple carriageway before I hit London.
Also replaced the fuel filter yesterday and that alone has made a noticable difference to pulling away and pick up :y

well its all good :D
AT 70mph in 5th revs are about 2800-2900 and pulls very well....mpg is uneffected but certainly crispier on the throttle
Cant wait to see what the chip does :)

I'd be rather careful of standing water with the air intakes that low.
TBH I think if there was a significant gain to be made from a simple change to the induction system it would have been there on the standard car. VX obviously put some time and money into designing what is a pretty complex induction system on these engines.
Still, if it makes a noticeable difference...
