Title: second long run on the bike
Post by: tunnie on 02 October 2009, 20:55:31
Due to the shift work i had yesterday and today off, so took the bike for a blast to my grandparents. Stopped off for a greasy breakfast from little chef, set me up for the ride!  8-)

Really enjoyed blasting it through the lanes, the way it glides through the corners and buckets of torque in reserve.

Enjoying the practicality as well, took spare clothes, food and a coat. Had a trial run with some tunes as well, tried out some bose in-ear headphones i have, they worked well. Still could hear road / car noises, but good to have some tunage on the way.

Got a few odd looks nodding away to music in stationary traffic  ;D

odd looks were because most bikes run up the outside and DONT sit in traffic! ;D

Used to love my bikes when I had em.  But 2 bikes, 2 write-off's from cars pulling out in front of me, and 2 lots of associated injuries from the afore mentioned accidents has closed off that particular avenue of pleasure...  :'(

i filter in traffic when i get the chance, but the time i stopped was on a narrow bridge in Henley on Thames, no room to filter  :'(

I was noding to my music, then noticed in the mirror the women behind me was pointing at me  ;D

Need to build up some practice for a run to the Isle of Man.

I'll take some pictures when i find a good spot next time Chris  :y

Henley? Just up the road. Nice roads round there as i'm sure you noticed. Wouldn't bother coming any further south. The Pikeys down here 'll have you off and nick your boots. ;D Really going off Reading. :-(

Quite often see two GS's in a long was round style on the m4 when i'm on days, weaving through the traffic. They are big old bikes esp. with top box and panniers. The traffic soon moves out the way when they come down the white line with lights blazing.

Yup, mine does not have the fog lights, mines just a standard GS. Might look at getting them fitted though, they do have a lot of road presense and people do seem to get out of my way  ;D

The car does half feel slow after a couple of days on the bike  :(
