Title: Software advice/recommendations
Post by: mantahatch on 04 October 2009, 20:37:43
Hi All
For reasons I won't go into right now, I need to download some free CD/DVD burning software. I would like some freeware legal stuff.

Can anyone recommend anything.
Running Windows 7 by the way

Thanks

Mike

I'm with Martin Imber - for burning ISOs etc, ImgBurn is excellent.

Can't think of much freeware authoring apps.  I tend to use Sonic/Roxio, purely because I have a licence that came free with the PC

Provoiding you don't want to do anything more than write raw data or ISO's.

Well I use CDs and DVDs mainly for data - no problems. And for DVDs I author them with whatever I have eg Ulead VideoStudio 9 but burn using IMGBURN as it is more reliable. Actually I also use external software to encode - TMPGENC XP.

Managed to get Ulead for the equivalent of free by doing some editing for them, TMPGENC I paid for excellent encoder. The same project also paid for the Dolby Digital upgrade to it.
