Title: Thankyou Mr, Cameron
Post by: albitz on 06 October 2009, 09:56:18
One of the first things he is going to do is make me work a year longer. >:( >:(
Always said I didnt like him. ::) :(
I dont mind if it is the only thing he could do to save on the huge amounts being paid in pensions, but if he had the balls to close the current system of public sector pensions to new members (at the very least imo)I wouldnt mind being next on the list. >:(

At 29 now I'm quite aware most my age may well work until 70. I'm planning on an early escape at 60 but will have to rely on my own funds to do so.

True. At least we have one politician is showing the vaguest signs of being in the real world instead of trumpeting about all the gimmicks they will implement if they get in and ignoring the elephant of debt in the room.

I suspect we will look back at this as being the tip of the iceberg whoever ends up in power for the next term. :(

Any government, blue or red, would like you to die on the day you retire. This would save them the cost of your old age pension and you wouldn't be a drain on our world-class health service.

Well sh!t the bed if you thought this was never going to happen.....

Frankly I am suprised it has taken this long but knowing that Labour have had their head in the sand for a long time over this issue explains a lot.

I read somewhere that 50% of kids born this year will reach 100...  :o

Oh 66 will just be the start of it!

I would like to know where the Conservatives are going to get the money to"restore the link to earnings" for pensions. Isn't that going to cost more? Mind you they haven't come out and said they actually will and they could still then renege on it.

Spanish neighbours cannot believe how little, and that it is a flat rate, a state pension is in Britain for such a rich country (their words not mine).

Same policy of Labour as well, just they are keeping quiet about it

I officially retire in 2016, but I already know that I will have to work until I'm 75, even with two company pensions ready for when I'm 63!!

There are a number of personal reasons for this, but also Brown and co. by crippling this country's financial position have made this a certainty for me!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Just as well I am gaining new qualifications for a second career::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
