Title: Swearing filters.
Post by: amigov6 on 06 October 2009, 19:08:50
We had a heated debate some time back regarding the use of colourful language on the forum & despite my views of not pandering to the over sensitive & easily offended i've gone with the flow & made an effort to moderate my gob.
Swearing does'nt offend me in the slightest but what REALLY makes my s**t itch is not being able to call a Capri a C A P R I. Whichever admin is playing god with thier car taste should be ashamed of themselves, your opinion is of no interest to others so pack it up. You know who you are...have a word with yourself...you're not funny!!!! ;D ;D ;D 8-)

Love it Lizzie but whoever is guilty should 'fess up, apologize & leave it out. I've narrowed it down to two (AA & Broccie could'nt be bothered with such trivialities) so if i'm right....& only if....i don't like the "other " cars you drive either. PANTS waste of money.
     Be a man about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

It looks very stupid in Guys meeting post, I think he should edit it tonight to put spaces in - it is embarrasing if the owner saw it.

Vauxhall did make one, the Shove-it, (Chevette)  ;D

Actually the Chevette wants to be a Corvette was a cracking little motor. You could adjust the tappits...wants to be cam followers... with the engine running.
Also probably only the other VX that handled...all the others only wanted to handle but failed dismally.
    NEXT PEASE!!!! :y

And you could spend a weekend ripping an engine out of an old 2300 Magnum/firenza etc,and sticking it in the Chevette (easier than changing an ex. manifold gasket on a mig) and you have a very quick little motor. :y 8-)

Crikey! The 1.3 Shove-it was enough of a handful on a wet roundabout. :o

Ok. Here we go. I first thought it was Jamie playing with the filter. Now i think it's MDTM. My reasoning being, he's an engineer (granted a good one) & nothing wrong with that but such folk think like scientists...ie without any love or passion materially, logic & efficiency is the rule of the day, the charm, endearment that any classic vehicle gives despite it's foibles is lost here ...so why the Manta love?? they were awful to drive.
Am i right? if i've wrongly accused i apologize. Guy. ::)

I have driven late Mantas  - quite nice cars, Chevettes were under powered and the engine was a bugger to work on.

I think most people know I like the equivalent ex Rootes Group products most.

The plot thickens. Jamie is by far the most mischievous but i know MDTM hates classic Fords, minis, MX5's, so yeah, why would he love Mantas? :-/

Indeed we were Lizzie but i know the difference between MDTM & my taste in cars, (Migs excepted).
Does'nt really matter now but i thought the Capri owner might have seen the forum as being a tad unfriendly. He's a likeable bloke (can't remember his name!) & although we all know this was meant in a humorous vein he might not. Also it did'nt look good on the photographers posts as every time he tried to say Capri it looked as if he hated the car.
I know i'm silly on here sometimes, ok most of the time & we take the mickey out of eachothers taste in cars which is fine but Retro Ford approached us, an admin pm'd me the link & we went ahead successfully, i just feel such humour should be kept in house & not used where the forum has agreed to go to press. I hold my hands up when i put my foot in it. ::)
