sorry guy's.............

Oxymoron -  "a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect"

The two just don't go together in the same context!!!!!!!

It's about time the PC brigade were kicked up the arse and told to get real, along with the elf & safety crowd! The British have their faults (as do any other race of people) but we have a unique sense of humour and candour not found anywhere else on earth, and we should be left alone to enjoy it.  :y

I agree with every word, we are loosing the ability to enjoy some banter for fear of the pc brigade making a complaint >:(

i've never used the p word as to me its obviously a racist slur

in this case there was no malice behind it at least - just an unfortunate slip which he quickly apologised for, and will soon have him disappearing back into obscurity

brucie should've stayed out of it as now they'll be a frenzy in the papers

Basically, I do as I have always done. When I was a kid, mum would send us to the Pakis for a loaf of bread. Every newsagent in the country is known as 'The Pakis'.
It wasn't meant as a racist slur, it was just the common idiom of the time.
The PC brigade have now decided to classify various terms as racist, including Paki, but that wont alter the way people think of things, any more than a soap-box haggis will. ;D

slightly off topic i know but .............

how the hell did this country get into this state ?

where did it start ?

who is to blame ?

once upon a time, we was respected for being british around the world.
now the world just thinks we are  joke  :'(
ask most people  from europe what they think and they will say that we are just a small island full of stupid people who moan and groan about everything and then just roll over to be walked on by the rest of the world  >:( >:(

will we ever be aloud to just tell people to stop being a silly tinker and tell them to grow up ?

i live in hull ( the birth place of William Wilberforce ........ the bloke who got slavery abolished )

a couple of years back, it was the annaversary of the abolishment of slavery.
Hull spent millions of pounds " celerbrating " .

i got stopped in town by a couple of our commonwelth friends collecting for ?????
when i politely refused to put money in the pot, they both kicked off calling me a rather rasist  >:( >:(
next thing you know, 2 coppers turn up
luckly for me, a bloke who was stood listening to it all turned out to be a officer of the court and said he would back me  :y
god knows how far i would have gone if he had not been who he was !!

the p-word hasn't just been classified, it was invented by the NF as a slur. it was daubed on walls of houses along with the words "go home" and "kill the". the 70's was rife with what was known as "p-word bashing"

so its really not the same as calling someone a Brit, a Scot, an Aussie etc its not the same because its a word full of hate, menace and intolerance.

off my soap box now  :y
