Title: Any plumbers on here?
Post by: Big Fra on 11 October 2009, 12:41:45
Ah'm scunnert! The rather cludgie is gubbed!

Sorry.

I'm not happy, the toilet has ceased to flush.

When the handle is used, there doesnt seem to be enough; suction? vacuum? to cause the water to flow from the systern, through the pipework and to the pan.

Any ideas?

I have already bought another suite but was waiting till I could afford to have the full bathroom redone as the floor needs replaced. (due to the toilet previously leaking)

Unfortunately this is a job which, unlike most, I cannot postpone.

HELP PLEASE!

not a plummer, but the membranes gone in the syfen, pump repeatedly on the flush handle, might pull the water through, if not its proper breaked....bnq for you, not too bad a job privided the base seals

the push button replacements work very well, no membrane to fail....imho

Thats it, just screws in an connect the handel, may have to take the systern off the wall for access depending on your set up, and may need a donut washer if it screws to the pan, if its leaked before you may want to get the relevant washers or seals.

In the mean time try rapid and quick pumps on the handel, if there is any membrane left it will pull the water through eventually if it can...
Or chuck a bucket of water down it to flush... :y

Make your own membrane but cutting out from some thick polythene
I used a laminating pocket & both cisterns have functioned perfectly for the last 3 years (yes we have 2 bathrooms) [smiley=bath.gif]

We live in a high class neighbourhood, the livestock are sensitive & need their privacy as much as we do! :P
