What would you do? For those who did'nt read the initial post i agreed to have the blocks lifted, soil dug down the relevant layers of sand/gravel laid & compacted & blocks re laid for £700. Thiis was 2 weeks ago last saturday. The next day a Lithuanian spent sunday lifting the blocks & dug 3/4 of the area out. Since then nothing, no contact & i can't remember the name or phone no. No written agreements & no cash has changed hands the verbal agreement being i pay on completion when & if satisfied. First week i thought being as i'd got the price down he might be slotting it in as & when which i'm fine with but a fortnight? I reckon he's decided it's not worth it & can get it finished "in house" but will NOT pay him for the days labour.
He either completes or gets naff all.

First thing I'd do is be making it clear that if you weren't born in the UK, then you ain't f**king working with me, or on any project I am on.
Initially reading between the lines, it is sounding like you went for the cheap option....very shortly you will be reaping what you sow.
Good luck!
